This stunning, completely renovated top floor High Country condo above 5200 feet enjoys excellent panoramic views overlooking Grandfather Mountain as well as breathtaking, ever-changing views of the valley and ridgeline in this highland mountain region.
Our mile-high 2-bedroom, 2-bath home with 10' ceilings is fully equipped and conveniently located in Sugar Mountain village, above the town of Banner Elk and within a (10 minute) drive of restaurants, groceries, and outdoor gear.
The resort lobby is a warm, welcoming area with a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows. There is a vending room with drinks and snacks. Lots of books and puzzles are available for your use. Located on the main floor is an indoor heated pool, two hot tubs and a generously equipped workout room. The dry sauna and steam rooms are located downstairs, as well as a library of books.
The Sugar Top Resort provides basic complimentary Wi-Fi service available in most locations of the building, we have installed high-speed fiber optic internet service with a router in the condo exclusively for the use of our guests.
The condo is fully appointed, including a well-stocked kitchen with full-sized appliances, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The dining room seats four and adjoins the family room where you can enjoy the electric fireplace year-round. The Master Bath is over-sized. Sugar Top is not a hotel. We individually own and operate our rental unit, complete with our preferred housekeeping services. Available from 3 nights. Some amenities include flat screen TVs in each room, free high-speed Internet, Wi-Fi, new stackable washer dryer, ceiling fans throughout, a modern fully-equipped kitchen with refrigerator ice maker, and personal touches throughout to complement the exceptional long-range views that will take your breath away. The outside deck has table and bench seating as well. We are located next to the elevator, which is extremely convenient as the hallways are quite long, traversing the entire building. The windows and balcony allow fresh, cool mountain air in. The lack of air conditioning has not been an issue as it stays fairly cool and breezy up at the top of the mountain even in the summer time. For warmer days, we do have ceiling fans throughout as well as a portable air conditioner unit.
The resort has a glassed-in year round pool with a waterfall that allows a great view of the slopes. The pool, hot tub, dry sauna, steam room & fitness room are located just off the lobby so that you never have to go outside to enjoy the amenities. The resort has 24-hour security and shuttle service to the parking lots.
Sugar Top Resort was built with multiple tiered parking lots. As such, the upper level parking is prioritized for owners. Guests will be directed to one of the lower parking lots. The resort offers a shuttle service that is available 24/7. Please note, some weekends, holidays, and summer months can be busier than others when seasonal residents arrive. When this occurs, guests can always load and unload at the main entrance, and call ahead to the desk to have a shuttle waiting for their departure.
If coming to the mountains in the winter, please be prepared with an AWD or 4-wheel drive vehicle or stop at any of the three locations in Banner Elk to purchase snow chains.

Enjoy golf? You'll love the beauty and proximity of the local Sugar Mountain Golf Club. The more adventuresome can try their hand at zip-lining, horseback riding, canoeing, and white water rafting. There are also a wide variety of shops and dining establishments to explore year-round. Spring brings the beautiful colors of the mountain to life and the hiking trails will allow you to see the waking of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Summer supplies a break from the heat with the cooler temperatures, golf, fishing, swimming & boating, white water rafting/kayaking, horseback riding and zip lining! Fall is beautiful beyond your imagination; the trees supply more color than any artist rendering.There are numerous attractions such as Grandfather Mountain, the original Mast General Store, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, Tweetsie Railroad, Mystery Hill, Blowing Rock, and many more. Myriad festivals and events take place in and around our region during every season. Many mountain towns tend to slow down in the wintertime - but not Sugar Mountain. It is the best known snow skiing destination in the south, with a variety of venues and slopes to challenge you. You'll find everything from skiing, to snowboarding, to tubing and to snow-shoeing. And there is no shortage of instructors, equipment rentals, events and activities. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort even offers a "courtesy coach" to our building. Winter is a blast if you enjoy the “colder” sports. Within a short drive/shuttle, you will find Skiing, Snowboarding, ice skating and tubing.

Mitchell, and the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. Also close by is the Folk Art Center, Horse Back Riding, Fishing, White Water Raffling, Zip Lining, hiking, biking, and more. Winter sports abound, just about anything you can envision.
During the winter months all wheel drive vehicles, 4x4 or snow chains are advisable as is calling ahead to check the weather conditions. Sugar Top Resort will happily advise you.
